E-Commerce Web Design
We are finishing the year with lots of work related to e-commerce web design!
We went live with yet another custom WordPress e-commerce web design and implemented new e-commerce capabilities on a second pre-existing site.
The two projects required quick turnaround times that needed fast and effective deployment solutions.
Like all of Grapho Studios’ website work, the design is planned around a mobile first solution. With the ubiquity of smartphones, it would be a disservice not to accommodate responsive design into any modern web application.
E-Commerce Project One
The first project was initially conceived as a promotional website with no e-commerce capabilities but it is always important to be able to accommodate new features to a site as the need arises. At one point, the client required the capability to sell their products online, so the feature was implemented.
The site’s products are represented by custom 3D visualization graphics which was modeled, textured and rendered using The Foundry – Modo as our main solution.
It was also required to develop a branding strategy encompassing the products’ logo and the labeling for the products. Several iterations of the initial logo design were submitted to the client until a consensus was reached on a final design. Later, we incorporated the logo design into the products’ labeling.
E-Commerce Project Two
The second project was a bit more simple since our only requirement was selling one product as a testbed for a more robust future e-commerce implementation. Setting up the payment gateway required more work because it needed to be credit card capable without leaving the website and security was paramount. Therefore, it needed the installation of an SSL certificate and the configuration of a comprehensive checkout system.
The main problem for this second project was that all the work had to be completed in the first week of December which only granted us two weeks for the entire project.
