Computers have made our lives so much easier in very many respects. In the case of art departments, laying out a page for a publication, for example, used to take days. Special typesetting machines were used to produce the text in a sheet of paper that then was used in the traditional paste-up mechanical art. The Mac changed all that with the development of Adobe Systems Postscript language in conjunction with imagesetters and then later on platesetters. The Mac has been a staple of the graphics community since its introduction back 1985. Since then Apple has made a lot of changes. The Mac has gone through three processor architectures, two major platform changes and many years of software development. Today we have an extremely stable software/hardware environment that very rarely gives us trouble. But an electrical blackout, improper installation of software, lack of maintenance or a corrupt file can render the best system completely useless or unstable.
Fixing Macs
Grapho Studio has been using, fixing, and troubleshooting Mac computers since 1992, and we have kept up with system changes and up to date with software trends, development, and troubleshooting techniques and software. The consulting arm of our business helps many companies and individual clients maintain and fix their MacOS systems, suggesting backup strategies for safe data redundancy and identifying hardware problems that can be very tricky at times to diagnose and fix.
